SuperYachtsMonaco is proud to announce the sale of ORYX, a 40m Benetti yacht that was sold in Bitcoin.
The yachting world was taken by storm when the announcement of the sale of ORYX closed last month. Truly a historic transaction as one of the first recorded brokerage deals of its’ kind in Europe.
The deal was made possible with Bitpay who facilitated the transaction in exchange for Bitcoin. The Seller was represented by Hans Van Doornmalen and Simon Goldsworthy from Edmiston & Company, whilst Juan Andrade from SuperYachtsMonaco introduced the Buyer.
ORYX was designed by Stefano Righini and was delivered in 2013 as part of Benetti’s Classic Supreme series. The interior is designed by Francois Zuretti who blends both style and colors into something truly elegant.
The yacht has a cruising speed of 12 knots, a top speed of 15.5 knots, and is powered by twin 1,450hp MTU engines which allow for a range of 3,500 nautical miles while cruising.
ORYX has many different toys onboard as well as a warm and comfortable interior. The main saloon is equipped with a 50-inch HD TV and entertainment center which is perfect for relaxation and movie nights. Alfresco dining is available on the aft deck where 12 guests can be accommodated. On the sun deck, you can relax in the Jacuzzi, have a drink at the bar or do some barbecuing. Additionally, ORYX has space for 12 guests which can be housed in 5 elegant cabins as well as two luxurious VIP suites and two doubles below.
