You will next arrive at the crown jewels of the Gulf islands of Isla Espíritu Santo and Isla La Partida. An isthmus joins the two islands which depending on the tide can be reached by walking or a small boat. These UNESCO sites are dotted with bays along their shores with shallow waters and sand at your feet bringing out the bright aqua-blue colours of the water and can be compared to that of the Caribbean. Make sure to look out for the sea lion rookery and even sometimes you will get the opportunity to swim with them. A must-visit is Ensenada Grande beach on Isla La Partida which was voted the most beautiful beach in Mexico. Take a dip in the warm, clear waters and explore the limestone caves.

Visit the picture-perfect anchorage site of Puerto Balandra. This isolated bay is filled with pristine white sand beaches and the lagoon's shallow waters make it the ideal location for swimming, paddle boarding, and kayaking. The calm beaches transform into forests where you can observe the small vibrant coloured fish swimming amongst the roots of the trees. A short hike up the hill gives you incredible views of the Sea of Cortez as well as the perfect view of the beach below.
