The History of Mangusta Yachts for Sale

Mangusta yachts for sale benefit from a stellar reputation. You’ll soon see why.

Mangusta Yachts is an Italian yacht manufacturer that was established in 1985. The company has a long history of producing high-performance, luxury motor yachts that are built to exacting standards. In the early days of the company, Mangusta Yachts focused primarily on building fast, sporty boats that were designed for speed and agility. Over the years, the company has evolved, and today they produce a wide range of motor yachts that range from 45 to over 100 feet in length.

‘Mangusta’, in Italian translates to mongoose. This is because at the time, the leading brand for fast yachts was the Cobra by Tecnomarine, and the Balducci family wanted to beat this. It is widely known that the mongoose is the only animal that can defeat and kill a cobra, making it one of the smartest and most powerful animals, despite its small size. Mangustas have modelled their ethos around this – to beat the Cobra, and to prioritise speed and power, alongside style and luxury.

One of the key characteristics of Mangusta Yachts is their commitment to using advanced technology and cutting-edge design to create vessels that are both beautiful and practical. The company uses state-of-the-art materials and construction techniques to ensure that their yachts are both strong and lightweight. This combination of engineering and design has allowed Mangusta Yachts to build some of the fastest and most capable yachts on the water.

In recent years, Mangusta Yachts has become a global leader in the production of high-performance, luxury motor yachts. Their boats are widely recognized for their quality, style, and innovation, and they have become a sought-after brand among discerning boat owners and yacht enthusiasts. Whether you’re looking for a fast, sporty boat for racing, or a luxurious vessel for exploring the open waters, Mangusta Yachts is the perfect choice.

Mangusta Yachts for Sale: Characterised by Constant Innovation

The Balducci Family own Mangusta Yachts and pride themselves in being a family-owned business and bring years of tradition to the table, while still challenging the status quo. Their dreamchild started with Giuseppe Balducci, who started his career as a shipyard worker in Tuscany before following his entrepreneurial spirit and forming Mangusta in the 1980’s.

In the 1990’s, Mangusta’s 80 Yacht launched with the purpose of surpassing 80 feet in length (24.3 metres) for an open yacht. Up until this point, many shipyards had trouble with open yachts, as it takes expert craftsmanship to balance speed and spaciousness. Mangusta took this issue in stride and reached mainstream recognition when they built their first Maxi Open yacht, now seen as the idyllic union of sporty sleekness and optimal comfort.

Later in the 2000’s Mangusta yachts for sale included the Open Line flagship yachts, consisting of vessels exclusively over 50 metres (164 feet) in length, making them some of the largest open yachts in the world. This is how their 165 craft came to be, capable of excelling in sportiness, functionality, performance, entertainment, and comfort. Her max speed was an impressive 40 knots, made even better by the stunning architecture within.

Mangusta’s innovation has no limit: in 2016, they launched their introductory metal superyacht and first triple deck vessel to hit the water. A couple years later, in 2018, Mangusta launched GRANSPORT 54 EL LEON which became the first of their fleet to cruise around the world. She travelled over 50,000 miles on a 3.5 year journey; her four engines made this possible by preparing her for any sea or weather condition.

Great effort is incessantly made to keep Mangusta yachts for sale at the top of their game. This is achieved by utilising state of the art engineering, top notch technology, and unforgettable creativity. The Balducci family-run business continues to prioritise innovation and is now led by second and third generation family members.
