When it comes to yacht building, Poland might not be the first country to spring to mind, but Gdansk-based Conrad Shipyard is changing that perception, one groundbreaking launch at a time.

Conrad shipyard’s C144S series—its largest motor yacht line to date—has garnered international acclaim, and its second vessel, M/Y Extra Time, is a resounding affirmation of this momentum.

Launched in 2023, Extra Time builds on the success of her sister ship, M/Y Ace, launched in late 2022. Ace not only claimed the Boat International Design & Innovation Award for Best New Series in 2024, but also completed a transatlantic crossing, showcasing the range and capability of this 44.3-meter series. With the third hull, Moonlight, scheduled to launch in 2025, Conrad Shipyard is firmly establishing itself as a major player in the world of luxury yacht building.

A Bold Exterior

Designed by the renowned Reymond LangtonExtra Time cuts an elegant figure on the water. Her plumb bow and sleek aluminum superstructure, paired with a steel hull exemplify robust construction with commercial pedigree. Naval architecture by Diana Yacht Design ensures not only seaworthiness but also fuel efficiency, key for yachts designed for long-range cruising.

Measuring just under 500GT (497GT, to be precise), Extra Time maximizes interior volume without compromising her external lines. She’s a yacht that commands attention in port while offering the robustness and capability of a true oceangoing vessel.

Transatlantic Credentials

Like her predecessor, Extra Time is Lloyd’s classified and MCA-certified, enabling her to undertake transatlantic crossings with ease. Her twin Caterpillar engines propel her to a top speed of 14 knots, but it’s her cruising speed of 10 knots that reveals her true prowess. With a remarkable range of 5,100 nautical miles, she joins a select group of sub-45-meter yachts that can make such crossings on their own hulls.

Captain McCormack, who recently commanded Ace on her maiden voyage from the Balearic Islands to the Caribbean., highlighted the practical advantages:

Not many 44-meter yachts can cross the Atlantic without the need for shipping services. This capability not only reduces costs but underscores the reliability and seaworthiness of the C144S design.”

A Modern Haven Inside

The Milan-based design studio M2 Atelier is responsible for Extra Time’s interiors, which mirror the understated elegance of her exterior. Floor-to-ceiling windows flood the spaces with natural light, while a palette of soft greys and neutrals creates a calming atmosphere.

Key features include:

  • full-beam owner’s suite on the main deck, complete with his-and-hers bathrooms and ample storage.
  • Four additional guest cabins on the lower deck, offering versatile and luxurious accommodations.
  • Dedicated crew quarters with four double cabins and a captain’s cabin near the bridge, ensuring operational efficiency and privacy for the owner and guests.

Every surface, from the bespoke furniture to the subtly textured wall coverings, reflects Conrad Shipyard’s meticulous attention to detail, made possible by its in-house workshops for carpentry, furniture, aluminum, and painting.

On Deck: Relaxation Redefined

The outdoor spaces aboard Extra Time are designed with versatility in mind. Highlights include:

  • A bridge deck with separate dining and lounging areas.
  • A foredeck seating zone, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee or evening aperitif.
  • A flybridge infinity pool, ideal for sun-drenched days at sea.
  • A beach club with seamless access to the tender garage, which houses space for two tenders, jet skis, and an assortment of water toys.

These features cater to the modern yacht owner’s desire for multifunctional outdoor living spaces, while ensuring no compromise on style or functionality.

Craftsmanship and Vision

Conrad Shipyard’s evolution from a commercial shipbuilder to a luxury yacht innovator is nothing short of remarkable.

Every launch is a celebration of our commitment to precision and quality,” said Mikołaj Król, CEO of Conrad Shipyard. “With Extra Time, we continue to push boundaries, blending cutting-edge technology with timeless design. Ace, the first in the series, set the tone with an impressive haul of nine international awards, and Extra Time is already capturing the attention of industry insiders and potential buyers”.

With the C144S series, Conrad Shipyard has solidified its place on the global stage, proving that innovation, craftsmanship, and ambition can create yachts that rival those from more traditional yachting hubs. As Extra Time takes to the seas, she not only carries the legacy of Ace but also sets her own course, further raising the bar for Polish yacht building.
